# Ajrakhpur Handblock printed Linen Kurta fabric with Dupatta :Deep black ground with indigo and madder-red

Lotuses bloom on a night-black ground. Hand block printed in Ajrakh on linen, this set pairs a placement-print kurta with a matching dupatta. The kurta has a sawtooth-bordered yoke with lotus stems down the centre front and small floral butis on either side. The dupatta repeats the lotus in its body and is framed by wide indigo borders.

Ajrakh is a resist-and-dye tradition from Kutch. Each colour is a separate round of printing, dyeing and washing, and the process takes weeks rather than hours. Small variations in the print are the mark of the hand, not flaws.

**Wash care**

-   Dry clean recommended for the first wash
-   After that, hand wash separately in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent
-   Do not soak for long, and do not wring. Gently press out the water.
-   Some colour may run in the first few washes, which is normal for hand-dyed textiles
-   Dry flat or on a line in shade. Direct sun can fade the natural colours.
-   Iron on medium-high while slightly damp, preferably on the reverse
-   Do not bleach or tumble dry
