# Handwoven Cotton Jamdani Kurta Fabric with Striped Dupatta :Moss Green

Some colours feel like a quiet afternoon under a peepal tree. This moss green cotton suit set is one of them.

The kurta fabric is handwoven in soft cotton, with a Jamdani yoke rising along the neckline in ivory. The paisley-like floral motifs and stepped borders are woven directly into the fabric, thread by thread, as it takes shape on the loom. Tiny ivory butis are scattered across the body to keep it light and balanced.

It comes with an ivory cotton dupatta with fine moss pinstripes, finished with a Jamdani border of woven triangles and butis and hand-knotted tassels. The two pieces are made to be worn together, but the dupatta works just as well with a plain white or olive kurta.

Jamdani is a supplementary-weft technique from Bengal, where each motif is inserted by hand using small bamboo sticks while weaving. That is why no two pieces are exactly alike, and why small irregularities in the motifs are signs of the hand, not flaws.

Easy to wear through the day, graceful enough for pujas, family gatherings and festive lunches.

**Wash Care**

-   Dry clean the first time; after that, gentle hand wash in cold water
-   Use a mild detergent or liquid soap; no bleach
-   Wash separately, as handloom dyes can bleed slightly at first

-   Iron on medium heat, on the reverse side of the Jamdani motifs
-   Store folded in a cotton or muslin bag, away from direct sunlight
