Ajrakh is one of India's oldest printing traditions. It comes from Kutch in Gujarat and Sindh, and it is known for its geometric jaal patterns and layered indigo and madder tones. In this set, the craft is printed on tussar, a fabric with a natural golden sheen and a soft, slightly textured hand. Together they give the set an understated richness.
The kurta fabric has a centred paisley-style yoke motif for the neckline. Below it, a column of large circular Ajrakh medallions runs down the front, framed by fine stripe detailing and a dense Ajrakh border at the hem.
The dupatta is a piece you'll reach for again and again. It has wide Ajrakh jaal panels, floral scalloped borders, striped bands and the same signature medallions. It is finished with hand-twisted tassels along both ends.
