Carved wooden blocks and many days of patient work bring this piece from Ajrakhpur, Kutch, to you.
This unstitched set pairs tussar kurta fabric with a matching dupatta. Both are hand block printed in the Ajrakh tradition, which is centuries old. The printing is in deep indigo and warm ochre, outlined in black, on tussar's natural golden-cream base. The kurta fabric has a placement design: a floral yoke motif at the neckline and a border of arched mehrabs framing cypress (sarv) trees and lotuses. The dupatta has classic Ajrakh star medallions, rows of paisley, and repeated arches along both ends, and finishes in hand-knotted tassels.
Tussar's gentle sheen and slightly textured slub make it easy to dress up or down. It works for festive afternoons, pujas, and quiet celebrations where you want craft to speak softly.
Rooted in Earth. Woven by Hand.

Washcare
- Dry clean for the first few washes. Dry clean only is recommended to keep the silk's sheen.
- If hand washing, use cold water and a mild silk or liquid detergent. Wash separately, since natural and hand-printed colours may bleed slightly at first.
- Do not soak, scrub, or wring. Gently press out the water.
- Dry flat or on a hanger in the shade. Direct sun can fade indigo and dull the tussar.
- Iron on medium heat on the reverse side, or steam press.
- Store folded in a muslin or cotton bag, away from moisture. Refold occasionally to avoid permanent creases.
