Woven on the banks of the Narmada. Dhoop Chaon — "light and shadow" — is the most beloved of all Maheshwari weaves. The same saree looks deep forest green from one angle and luminous navy-violet from another. No dye trick, no finish. Pure warp-weft colour contrast on a handloom.
The warp and weft are woven in two contrasting silk tones — as the drape moves with you, the colours shift. No photograph can fully capture it, because it is not a static thing. It lives in motion.
Reversible border. Woven in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh.
