Woven on the banks of the Narmada, in a town that has been making silk since the reign of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar. Maheshwari sarees are known by one defining feature: the reversible border — identical on both sides — a hallmark of this craft and no other.

This saree is woven in rich wine, with fine-line checks across the body that catch the light in gentle texture. The border is lustrous golden zari with classic geometric Maheshwari motifs, and a contrast pink edging gives it a refined, contemporary lift. The pallu holds the most elaborate patterning — dense, structured, and beautiful.

Each saree is woven individually on a handloom. Slight variations in weave density, zari placement, and colour tone are part of the craft.

Wash Care
Recommended · Dry clean for best preservation of zari and silk threads.
Hand wash option · Cold water, mild silk-safe detergent (Genteel or Ezee). Do not rub or wring.
Do not · machine wash, bleach, tumble dry, or soak more than 10 minutes.
Dry · flat in shade. Never hang a wet Maheshwari — the weight distorts the weave.
Iron · silk setting, reverse side only, with a thin cotton cloth between iron and saree.
Zari care · Avoid contact with perfume and deodorant — alcohol damages zari over time.
Storage · Roll on a muslin-wrapped roll, or fold in cotton muslin. Avoid plastic.
