Handwoven Jamdani Kurta Fabric with Dupatta — Ivory & Madder Red

This Jamdani set is woven entirely by hand on a pit loom, the motifs built through supplementary weft each butti and border inserted individually by the weaver, without any jacquard or machine patterning. The kurta panel carries a mirrored geometric spread through the centre, opening into a banded hem, while fine buttis scatter across the rest of the length. The dupatta answers it in stripes and a soft temple-edge chevron, finished with hand-twisted knotted fringes.

Ivory and red is the oldest pairing in Bengal's weaving vocabulary. It sits as easily at a Puja morning as it does with silver jhumkas on an ordinary Thursday.

Wash Care:

• Dry clean recommended for the first wash
• Thereafter, gentle hand wash in cold water with mild detergent
• Do not wring or bleach; dry in shade
• Warm iron on reverse
• Slight irregularities in the weave are natural to handloom textiles and a mark of their handmade origin
