A garden drawn in ink. This ivory Bangalore silk dupatta carries the storytelling spirit of Kalamkari, the centuries-old art of the Andhra coast, rendered in fine black line work across a soft, lustrous base.

The body unfolds like a Tree of Life: winding vines with lotus blooms, pomegranate and grape clusters, serrated leaves and curling tendrils spread across the fabric with no two corners alike. At the pallu, a deep black panel frames a pair of facing peacocks, their plumes worked in intricate lattice and paisley detail, set among flowers. Below them hangs a row of delicate drop motifs, finished with a hand-knotted tasselled edge.

The long sides are edged with black borders and bands of gold zari that catch the light as you move.

Pair it with a black, ivory, or deep maroon kurta for festive evenings, or let it lift a plain cotton suit into something special.

Rooted in Earth. Woven by Hand.

Wash Care

  • Dry clean recommended, especially for the first wash
  • If needed, gentle hand wash separately in cold water with a mild liquid detergent (silk or baby shampoo works well); do not soak
  • Black dye may bleed slightly in early washes, so never wash with light-coloured garments
  • Do not wring or twist; press gently between towels to remove water
  • Dry flat in shade, away from direct sunlight to protect the ivory base and zari
  • Iron on low to medium heat on the reverse, or with a cotton cloth in between; avoid direct heat on the zari
  • Store folded in a muslin or cotton bag; refold occasionally to prevent crease marks on the zari
  • Keep away from perfume and deodorant sprays
